The SEF front-end Bot adds Search Engines Friendly URLs support to links in content items. It operates directly on the HTML and does not require a special tag.
A standard Elxis URL is like the one bellow:
index.php?option=com_weblinks&Itemid=4
If you have enabled the Standard SEO in Elxis, the SEF Bot will convert the above URL to:
http://www.mysite.com/option,com_weblinks/Itemid,4/
If you have enabled the SEO PRO in Elxis, the SEF Bot will convert the above URL to:
http://www.mysite.com/links/
As any other Bot, the SEF Bot usage will slow down a little your Elxis web site. Keep it unpublished if you don't use to write URLs into your content items like this: index.php?option=...
