The IOS Image Rotator module by Is Open Source provides you with a simple yet eye-candy (uses fade) image rotating mechanism using JavaScript for the Elxis CMS! Image Rotator can rotate custom images or Elxis banners. IOS Image Rotator does not require any third party library (mootools, jquery, etc) to work. It works as standalone and it is extremely lightweight (just 2.5KB). The module has multi-lingual XML parameters, is XHTML/CSS valid, coded using Object Oriented (OO) programming in PHP 5.x and it is verified for Elxis 2008.x/2009.x.

Releases and download

The current version of IOS Image Rotator is 1.1.

  • 1.0: Initial release (release date: January 3, 2008).
  • 1.1: Improved version. The module's JavaScript re-written using an OO architecture. XTML re-validation. Option to load unlimited instances of the module in the same page each one with different parameters. Support for SSL URLs. Tested on Firefox 3.6 and Internet Explorer 8 but should work on all modern browsers. (release date: July 25, 2010).

Usage instructions (display images)

Create a folder to save images. We recommend you to do this under the images/stories/ directory. Upload your images in that folder. For better display make sure all images have the same dimensions. Adjust the module parameters to suit your needs. Finish!


Usage instructions (display banners)

Image Rotator can alternatively display banners taken from the Elxis Banners components. You can also limit the selected banners by setting your desired client ID.
