To administer IOS Reservations login to Elxis administration and navigate to IOS Reservations control panel (Components > IOS Reservations). From this screen you can administer the IOS Reservations system. The administration area is separated into sections depending on the administrative task you wish to perform.

Configuring the component

If you opened the administration area for the first time you better start by configuring IOS Reservations. One of the first options you should set is the mode under which IOS Reservations will work (Single hotel or multiple hotels mode). Once set, NEVER change it!

Component Activation

In order to release the full power of IOS Reservations you have to activate the component. Inactive components have limited functionality and some tasks are not allowed to be performed. Notice that you can activate the component only once. After activation you can not use the same activation code again. So, activate the component only on the site you are going to finally use the component. If you move the installation to an other site, or you change the URL of the site the previous activation will become invalid. Contact Is Open Source in that case to reset your previous activation in order to be able to re-activate it using the old license key on the new site. Note that Is Open Source might refuse to reset your previous activation if you do this continuously.

Add hoteliers

Before you go to add hotels and rooms you have to add hoteliers on the system. Hoteliers are the owners of your hotels and the people that will receive and manage the reservations (for each hotel separately). You can pick hoteliers from the list of the existing elxis users. You can set each hotelier privileges for the front-end control panel as well as their expiration date. After this date they can no longer access the control panel. If you have set the component to work under Single hotel mode you need to create just one hotelier (most probably yourself).

Setting up locations

IOS Reservations uses the following data structure:

So, you should better start by entering the locations where the hotels are located. You can add an unlimited number of locations of any level. On the locations page you can see a list of the current locations in the system.

Add your hotels

After setting up at least one location you are ready to add your first hotel to that location. You will find extended help in this wiki regarding all related issues such as Reservation notifications, Hotel facilities, Gallery pictures, Payment modules and surety fee and Add-on services.

Add rooms

After adding your hotel(s) you can create and assign rooms to it. IOS Reservations uses AJAX to make edit process easy and fast. You can also makes copies of a room with just one click. Make sure all of your rooms are assigned to hotels. Orphan rooms are useless.

Manage reservations

You have your first reservations? As a site administrator having access to Elxis back-end you can manage everything, reservations including, front back-end. If you have assigned to the hotel a hotelier with front-end access he can manage his reservations from the elxis front-end area. As a back-end user or a hotelier you can accept, reject, move and delete reservations.
