IOS Reservations can switch automatically to SSL mode on pages that privacy is important (registration, edit personal info, payment page, booking confirmation, etc). To use this feature a valid SSL certificate is important to be installed on the server. If an SSL certificate is available and SEO PRO in Elxis is enabled, you can enable the SSL switch on IOS Reservations from the component's configuration.

What the SSL switch does?

Well, consider that your site's URL is http://www.mysite.com. Whenever you visit a page that privacy is important IOS Reservations will request the https://www.mysite.com instead of the standard site URL. On secure pages the transaction between the web server and you is encrypted so your personal data are safer.

Should I turn the whole Elxis in SSL mode?

No. Keep Elxis live site URL as http and the IOS Reservations will switch automatically to SSL mode (https) whenever it needs to.

Where I can find an SSL certificate?

There are free secure certificates like the Open SSL and paid ones. We recommend you to buy one especially for your site. Rent A Site is an official partner of Is Open Source and has some great offers on SSL certificates.

How to install an SSL certificate?

Contact the SSL certificate and your hosting providers for this.
