Besides other administrative tasks on a reservation, IOS Reservations allows you to move an existing reservation in time. As a hotelier, or a site administrator you can move a reservation's check-in date up to 20 days backwards or forwards in time. The allowed number of days for the backwards move is related to the current date. When a reservation is moved in time all reservation's booked rooms and services are moved together, the stay duration remains the same and the check-out date is calculated automatically. The move action is performed from the hoteliers control panel.
Before you attempt to move a reservation you can check the eligibility of the move by clicking on the check availability link. This link is AJAX powered and will notify you if the move you are going to attempt is allowed or not (performs an availability check for the new dates). Note that IOS Reservations will also calculate the reservation cost for the new dates and notify you if there is a difference in price. If the hotel guest has already paid a surety fee for the reservation, the move wont update the surety fee. The surety fee will be updated for reservations that surety fee is still marked as non-paid.
After a successful move notification messages via e-mail and SMS (if enabled and the guest has provide a valid mobile number) are sent automatically to the hotel guest.
