To IOSR v3.5+ users: This page is deprecated as it describes front-page setup for IOS Reservations v3.3

Depending on the operating mode under which IOS Reservations works the component's front page will be one of the following:

  • The hotel's detailed page (Single hotel mode)
  • A custom page with various informational blocks for available destinations, top hotels, search, etc. (Multiple hotels mode)

In this article we will present you the custom front-page and the options available when working under multiple hotels mode.

Contents

Multiple hotels mode front-page

The page's layout can be seen on the following diagram. On the top of the page there is the application title as you have set it on component's configuration. Some elements are always shown, for some others you can set if you want to be displayed from IOS Reservations configuration and there is also a special box for hoteliers and logged in users.

Modules area

IOS Reservations has 2 places in front-page where you can load any module you like. The first one is exactly bellow the page title (modules position restop) and the other one bellow the search area (modules position resbottom). You can load ANY number of modules in these positions. IOS Reservations works just like your elxis template does. In that positions you can display any module (user or third party ones), in any number and language combination. You can have a nice banner (each one for a different language) from example, a welcome message, a nice image slider and anything you can think of. The modules are loaded without surrounding divs (style -1). IOS Reservations will just wrap them with a div with CSS class resfptopmods (position restop) and resfpbottommods (position resbottom). Read more about inner IOS Reservations modules.

Destinations

IOS Reservations will display a list of destinations in the front-page. This list is being displayed in 2 columns. For each destination a thumbnail is being displayed, a link to the destination list page and also the number of hotels and sub-destinations.

From the component's configuration you can set which destinations to be displayed. Possible options are: root destinations (level 1), second level destinations and custom destinations. You can also set the number of destinations to be displayed.

  • Root destinations are locations that have no parent items (level 1).
  • Second level destinations are locations that have as parent item a root destination (level 2).
  • Custom destinations can be any location, of any level. Just enter the locations IDs (comma separated) in the component's configuration that you wish to be displayed in front-page list (any level).

Featured hotel

If you consider a hotel as special you can set it to be displayed as featured. You can have unlimited number of featured hotels. Featured hotels will be displayed in component's front-page, one each time. By refreshing the page the featured hotel changes randomly. To set the featured hotels go to IOS Reservations configuration and write down the IDs of the hotels you wish to be displayed as featured (comma separated).

Top hotels

Here you can display a list of an adjustable number of hotels. These can be the latest added, those with the most hits, those with the most reservations or you can display hotels randomly. The corresponding settings are on IOS Reservations configuration page.
