Elxis Defender is one of the unique Elxis tools and very powerfull way to protect your Elxis website. You can configure Defender to log blocked attacks, block specific IP, or even the whole IP range. Also, you may restrict access to your site only to selected IP addresses (allowed IPs).

In order to protect your site from malicious code, like MySQL injections, you must configure filters. Elxis defender is useless without them, just like antivirus program without regular updates. If you dont know where to start, you may find some filters on the lower section of Defender configuration page. Dont use too many filters, as that may slow down your site. Use about 15 filters for best performace/security ratio. It is important to monitor your Apache logs for any unusual requests. If you think some of them are attacks, you may add them to the filters list.

You may configure Defender to send you an e-mail about evert attack, even to bring site offline for a given period of time. Don't forget to configure Defender to block attacker's IP.

Also, you must chmod certain files to 666 and Defender's log folder to 777 in order to save Defender configuration.
