Customers might be registered Elxis users or not (if you have enabled express checkout then visitors can shop without logging in). Normally IOS Eshop creates a customer after the submission of an order by an non-existing customer. But IOS Eshop allows you to also create customers manually from the administration panel.

Existing customers list

By selecting Customers from IOS Eshop control panel you go to the customers list. This lists displays a summary for each customer showing info such as the number of his orders and his orders total amount. By clicking on the e-mail icon you can send the customer a message directly from within IOS Eshop. From this page you can edit, delete or even create a new customer.

Edit a customer

The scope of editing a customer is to update his personal data is case they have been changed or in case he has supplied, accidentally, wrong data. You can also set the customer to a specific shoppers group in order to provide him with special prices, tax and discounts. If the customer is assigned to a group the has the auto assignment flag next to it this means that the shopper group might be changed if the customer selects an other country. Customer's group will never change for groups that have no country information assigned to them.

For that same page you can also see the customer's currently submitted orders and discount coupons.

Create a new customer

Normally IOS Eshop creates a customer after the submission of an order by an non-existing customer. But IOS Eshop allows you to also create customers manually. Why is this? Well, this is useful when you need to create a customer assigned to a special shoppers group. For instance to a Whole Sales group that will see no tax. A manually created customer must be assigned to an Elxis user. In order this customer to see the products in the special prices he has to login by using the username/password of the user assigned to him. If he don't login IOS Eshop can not identify him.

From the customers list page click New. In the next page you will see a form to search for the user that will be assigned to the new customer. If the user does not exist please first create him (1) and then return back to this page. You can enter as search keyword the whole or part of his name, username or e-mail. You keyword should be, at least, 3 characters long. IOS Eshop will show you the users found matching the search keyword that are not already assigned to an other customer and that they are not blocked (meaning that they can login). Click on the username of any of these users to create a new customer assigned to him.

After picking the user you will go to the new customer edit page. Some fields will be already filled-in by the user's data, fill in the rest, select the customer's shopper group and click save or apply when ready.

Delete a customer

From the customers list page select the customer(s) you wish to delete and click Delete. This action will only delete the customer entry, not his orders or the elxis user assigned to him (if assigned).
