IOS eshop supports the addition of unlimited number of categories of any level. For products' easy access and for SEO reasons we advise you, if possible, to not add a category in the third or greater level (category / category / product).
In the list of the existing categories you can, with one click, set the publish status, re-order, delete or edit a category. To delete a category it must be empty (without products or other categories). Click on a category title to edit that category. As shown above, the sub-categories are demonstrated under the category they are filed into. Pagination provides a lot of help, in case the amount of categories and sub-categories is big but the most helpful feature in this case is the option to filter the categories shown based on the root category they belong to. Products number shows the number of products each category contains, making it easier for you to monitor sales and shortages.
Add or edit category
To add a new category on the categories page click the New icon button on Elxis tool bar. To edit a category click on a category's title or select the category and click Edit.
You can provide the title of the category in the main language of your Elxis site, as well as in up to three other languages (multilingualism is thoroughly supported). The SEO title will assist customers browsing through the net, and will attract them to your website, so pay attention and use good SEO titles. Don't just pick the automatic suggested one.
After that, you must fill in the specifications of the newly created category/sub-category. The order in which it will appear, the parent category, if it going to be published or not and upload an image that will accompany it. Category images are uploaded in folder components/com_eshop/category_images/
