Elxis 2009.1 release notes
From Elxis Official Documentation
PHP 5.3 Compatibility
The most important upgrade that have taken place in this new elxis release is the compatibility with the last version of PHP .
Elxis 2009.1(Hecate) is fully compatible with PHP 5.3 but also has a backward compatibility. This means that won't face any problem with php 5.2 installations.
On Elxis 2009.1 or newer component search re-orders the results returned by the bots giving the results a global ordering. It also provides pagination and better html mark-up.
Also some more parameters were added to handle the pagination of the search results and the layout of the search page.
Elxis e-blog component is now more powerful. Added daily posts support, linked post titles, included posts to site's search results, pagination for the archive pages and social bookmarking support by adding the e-mailit bookmarking script in the source code.
Module logged in users
Module Logged in users that is been displayed (by default) on the Elxis main administration page in has been upgraded with new futures in Elxis 2009.1 . From that module you can see the users and visitors that currently browse your site. The module is AJAX powered (Elxis 2009.1+) among other useful features.... for more information visit Module logged in users documentation page.
On Elxis 2009.1 we introduced a new feature, the template XML parameters, which allow making changes on templates without touching the code! Template parameters works exactly like those for the Elxis modules, components or bots. This feature will give the ability to template developers to add to their templates options to control layout, color, logos ...etc, so the end-user will not need any more to touch the code in order to control those characteristics.
Elxis 2009.1 version requires some extra database-tables, Elxis Team developed and released a patch to help users easily upgrade from version 2009.0 to 2009.1 version.
Users that want to upgrade from earlier versions consider of reading first Update Elxis 2009.0 to 2009.1 documentation page.
PHP 5.2+ and, therefore Elxis 2009.x, requires that you have set the proper timezone information in your php.ini (php.ini is the configuration file of PHP). If not, you will get PHP warnings. Here is how you can set the timezone information in PHP. Timezone is required in PHP 5 but the default PHP installation has the date.timezone parameter commented and no value assigned. We strongly recommend you to set the proper value for the date.timezone parameter. Elxis 2009.1+ will display a warning if this parameter is not set.
